About the Macrobiotic Online Course
In this first of its kind course combining video, audio, print and live interaction, students will have the opportunity to study all facets of macrobiotics with Edward Esko, long time associate of Michio Kushi and Founder of the International Macrobiotic Institute (IMI.) The Macrobiotic Online Course is designed to enable students to gain ongoing benefit from their daily practice of macrobiotics while developing the knowledge and skill to guide and counsel others toward health and happiness. The Online Course is divided into three 12-week courses:
Course One: Core Macrobiotic Studies
Course Two: Foundations of Healing
Course Three: Advanced Applications of Healing
Course One and Two are open to everyone. Course Three is open only to graduates of Course One or Course Two.
Course Three: Advanced Applications of Healing/12 Weeks
In this Advanced Course, students learn how to apply their knowledge of macrobiotic principles to solving degenerative conditions that are common in the modern world and that affect practically every family. Studies include the cause, mechanism, and symptoms of modern conditions, and the macrobiotic dietary and lifestyle approach to prevention and recovery. Methods of diagnosis, such as visual, touch; meridian, and others will be explored. The Advanced Course is designed to train students for a career as a macrobiotic teacher and counselor.

Class 1
HEALING OVERVIEW
A discussion of healing with emphasis on self-reflection and self-change, and the role of diet, lifestyle, remedies, and energy healing. Discovery of healing on the deepest levels. An introduction to the foundations of holistic macrobiotic healing in relation to modern medicine and other forms of therapy.
Class 2
REPRODUCTIVE DISORDERS
An in-depth look at the cause of male and female reproductive disorders, including enlarged prostate, low sperm count, low testosterone, uterine fibroid, ovarian cyst, endometriosis, hot flashes, and other conditions. An in-depth explanation of male and female reproductive cycles and energies including the role of male and female hormones. Includes macrobiotic methods for diagnosing reproductive disorders using facial features, skin, and meridians.
Class 3
HEALING REPRODUCTIVE DISORDERS
A continuation of the study of reproductive disorders, including the macrobiotic dietary and lifestyle approach to the conditions outlined above. Specific foods, home remedies, and external treatments for a range of reproductive disorders.
Class 4
MIND AND EMOTIONS
An in-depth look at the macrobiotic approach to mood, emotional, and mental disorders, including depression, schizophrenia, Asperger's, autism, and eating disorders. Includes a discussion of the five transformations, organs, and related mood and emotional conditions.
Class 5
HEALING THE MIND AND EMOTIONS
Continuation of the macrobiotic approach to mood, emotional, and mental disorders, including depression, schizophrenia, Asperger's, autism, and eating disorders. Includes a discussion of the five transformations, organs, and related mood and emotional conditions, plus dietary and way of life suggestions. Dietary and lifestyle approaches to preventing and recovering from mental and emotional conditions.

ARTHRITIS
The macrobiotic approach to the major types of arthritis including rheumatoid arthritis (RA), lupus, osteoarthritis, and gout. Featuring an explanation of the dietary causes and potential for relief from these conditions through the macrobiotic diet, home remedies, and lifestyle. Includes the macrobiotic view of osteoporosis. Includes the energetic causes of arthritis and the relation to the body’s energy system.

NERVOUS DISORDERS
An in-depth look at the dietary and lifestyle causes of conditions such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, ALS, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and other disorders of the nervous system. Includes macrobiotic dietary and way of life suggestions for prevention and recovery.

UNDERSTANDING CANCER
An in-depth look at the dietary and lifestyle causes of cancer based on the macrobiotic principles of yin and yang. A discussion of dietary extremes as they relate to the development of specific cancers with an explanation of the macrobiotic approach to prevention, management and possible recovery. Methods for diagnosing the tendency toward cancer and other degenerative conditions are included.

DIETARY APPROACH TO CANCER
Continuation of the macrobiotic approach to cancer, including specific foods and remedies aimed at prevention management, and possible. Includes review of research linking specific foods to both the cause and remission of cancer.
Class 10
NEW MEDICINE FOR HUMANITY Live Interactive
Preparation of students to become practitioners of the New Medicine for Humanity, including developing the ability to solve the large-scale problems affecting humanity today, such as war, crime, decline of the family, degenerative sickness, environmental degradation, economic inequality, social injustice, and others, and pave the way to a new era of health, peace, and genuine sustainability.

STUDY GUIDE AND REVIEW
A review of the Course Three Curriculum including a Study Guide to help prepare students for the final exam.
Class 12
COURSE THREE TEST
An online test based on the Course Three Curriculum, including a test review and student presentations on topics related to their study of macrobiotics.

Certification
Students who complete the Course Three Curriculum of Study will receive a Certificate from the International Macrobiotic Institute (IMI) signed by Edward Esko, Founder, acknowledging their successful completion of and graduation from all three courses of study in the Macrobiotic Online Course.

Edward Esko is one of the world's leading teachers and counselors on the macrobiotic way of life. He studied with Michio Kushi for many years and has served as Executive Director of the East West Foundation in Boston and Director of Education and Dean of Faculty at the Kushi Institute of the Berkshires.
He has personally counseled and guided thousands of people toward improved health through the macrobiotic diet and way of life. He has lectured in over a dozen countries and authored or edited more than twenty books, including Holistic Health through Macrobiotics, Natural Healing through Macrobiotics, Contemporary Macrobiotics and Yin Yang Primer.
Edward founded the International Macrobiotic Institute in 2016 to further the dream and vision of his mentor, Michio Kushi, and to make quality macrobiotic education and guidance available to people around the world.
